This month’s discussion promises to be both educational and inspiring, as we examine how Article V can empower citizens to take control of our government’s direction—or present risks we need to understand. Whether you’re a constitutional expert or just curious about our founding document, Rick and Vic will offer insights to spark meaningful conversation. Don’t miss this chance to connect with fellow patriots, enjoy a light lunch, and engage in a topic that matters. We’ll see you at The Venice Community Center, 326 S. Nokomis Ave in Venice—bring your questions and your patriotic spirit, because we need your voice in this movement!
Article V of the U.S. Constitution outlines two ways to propose and ratify amendments, giving Americans a path to update our founding document. First, Congress can propose an amendment with a two-thirds vote in both the House and Senate. Alternatively, if two-thirds of state legislatures (34 out of 50) call for a convention, they can propose amendments directly—a process often called a “Convention of States.” Either way, an amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths of the states (38 out of 50) to become law. This mechanism ensures that changes to the Constitution reflect broad national consensus, balancing federal and state power.
At our May 14th meeting, Rick Mikluscak and Vic Rohe will discuss the pros and cons of Article V, focusing on its potential to address modern challenges—or create new ones. On the pro side, some argue Article V allows citizens to bypass a gridlocked Congress, proposing amendments to limit federal power, impose term limits, or balance the budget—ideas often popular among grassroots movements. On the con side, others worry a Convention of States could spiral out of control, opening the door to radical changes or undermining core constitutional protections. It’s a complex topic with high stakes, making this discussion a must-attend for any patriot.
Since its ratification in 1788, Article V has been used successfully 27 times—think of the Bill of Rights or the 19th Amendment giving women the vote—but the Convention of States method has never been fully triggered. Today, debates over Article V are heating up, with groups like ours at the forefront of the conversation. Join us to hear Rick and Vic break down what Article V means for our future, offering perspectives that could shape how we advocate for change. Whether you’re for or against its use, understanding Article V is key to protecting the America we love.
We can’t wait to see you there!

Usama Dakdok
Usama Dakdok, an Egypt-born Christian, first learned about Islam while in government schools. He furthered his university degree education at the High Institute of Social Work, Egypt, which included the study of Sharia (Islamic Law).
Arriving in America in 1992 with Arabic as his native language, he discovered that the commonly used English translations of the Qur’an were full of misrepresentations that minimized its violent teachings as revealed in the Arabic text.
Having an expert understanding of Islam, he deeply desired to reach out to Muslims in America with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, in 2001, he founded The Straight Way of Grace Ministry, which has a two-fold purpose: to equip the Christian church to minister to Muslims, and to warn all Americans about the deceptive methods being used by Muslims to lead so many into the cult of Islam.
For over a decade, Usama has traveled extensively throughout America and Canada sharing the powerful message of “Revealing the Truth about Islam.
